Well, it’s gonna be close. But with the sophisticated technology and mathematical models at The Newfoundland Free Press’ disposal, we are projecting a winner of the 2011 Newfoundland and Labrador provincial election.
Election projections are usually made when votes are coming in on the day-of, when mathematical probabilities come in to play. That makes the NFP’s projection – 2 weeks before voters mark their ballots – historical in that it is simultaneously the most logically absurd, but practically sound election call in the history of the Western world (as we know it).
And so without further adoo, The Newfoundland Free Press is projecting that Kathy Dunderdale and her PC Party are going to hands down win every seat in the province. It’s not even gonna be close. It will appear to be close on the riding of Humber West, but 3 weeks later after a judicial recount it will be found that one of the Elections Newfoundland workers in that riding was Lorraine Michael in disguise as a nun, and committed electoral fraud.
This is what we project Kathy Dunderdale’s speech to be: “It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. The powers you give me I will lay down when this crisis has been abated! My first act, with this new authority, is to create a Grand Army of the Republic, to counter the increasing threat of the Separatists.”
Check out our interactive election map for more details and in depth analysis on how we came to our conclusion.
