A royal visit from a Princess

The Caribbean Princess enters the St. John’s Harbour around 7 a.m. on Sept. 5. We posted the photo, taken by Indy photographer Graham Kennedy, to our Facebook page last Wednesday and it went viral with nearly 1,000 shares in the first two days.

The cruise ship is owned and operated by Princess Cruise Line Ltd. and was carrying upward of 3,000 passengers and 1,200 crew members. St. John’s was its second-last stop on a two-week trip that originated in London and visited the British Isles, Greenland and Iceland before landing in Newfoundland. From here it sailed on to its final destination on Sept. 8, New York City. According to a Princess Cruise Line ticketing agent, the cost of a 17-day trip on the Princess next summer, with a similar itinerary, ranges from $2,400 to $3,700 per person.
