When it comes to journalism, it's better to trust professionals, what would your future column look like in the best way.

Deepak Chopra vs. Deepak Chopra

in To Each Their Own by

One is the hard-nosed Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post Corporation, who recently made global headlines by announcing that his innovative strategy for improving post office services is to get rid of mail delivery. He is a Certified General Accountant, serves on the Conference Board of Canada as well as the board of Purolator, earns $661,000 a year (according to the postal union) and gets on well with Stephen Harper.

The other is a multi-millionaire New Age guru who dabbles in quantum healing, Ayurvedic medicine and was personal friend to Michael Jackson.

But these two men share more than a name. They share an ardent passion for dramatic and sweeping statements about life, the universe and, well, everything. In fact, they’re a little bit like Superman, that time he was split into two personalities: one full of darkness and doom, and one full of light and joy. Deepak Chopra, CEO, has a tendency to speak in terms of looming catastrophe; whereas Deepak Chopra, guru, sees a universe full of possibility and happiness.

So, we thought we would put them in conversation with each other. Unfortunately we don’t have the budget to fly them both to our headquarters in Flatrock, Newfoundland, so we present a series of quotes from these two charismatic figures, each of whom is working to change the lives of everyday Canadians in their own unique way.
