When it comes to good evaluation, I always ask for college homework help in a reliable service. Usually these are written services that are recommended by my friends or acquaintances. When it comes to journalism, it's better to trust professionals, what would your future column look like in the best way.

Daily Indygestion back after a rest

in Blog/Daily Indygestion/Email Indygestion/Journalism by

The Indygestion has been quiet for the past two weeks… a little too quiet. We’ve gotten emails from quite a few concerned inydgesters wondering where their emails have been the past two weeks, and though we’re sorry about the service disruption, we’re happy to report that we’re still here – and much improved we might add. If you haven’t moseyed over to The Independent‘s home page in some time, we suggest you do so because we’ve changed our look. Not only are we more polished online, but we’ve also appeared in print this month too. Click here if you haven’t seen us around town yet, and check us out in newsprint for the first time since 2008. And more good news – we are about to unveil our mobile site, which will make it easier and faster for you to check out our website from your smartphone. So while we…

Back in Print!

in Blog/Featured by

Gallivanting around town in the past few days you may have noticed something interesting in the coffee shops, the malls, the bakeries, and the A&W’s: The Independent. It’s true – for the first time since 2008 we’re back in print. “Why?” you might ask, as a faithful reader of us on the web. Though we have attracted a dedicated and respectably-sized readership over the past ten months, it remains true that many out there simply don’t know about us yet. And so we thought that the best way to catch people’s attention was to plaster the streets with our masthead once again – and give them a taste of the excellent work our columnists and writers have been doing in 2011. So if you’re out and about, keep an eye for us. But if you can’t, as with all (well, most!) of our print editions, you can find it archived…

Thanks for the memories

How fast the days go by at this time of year… Movember has come and gone, but I wanted to give The Independent‘s sincere thanks to the three men who allowed us to profile the growth of their moustaches for a month: Dr. David Harvey, Michael Bartellas, and Mike Dawe. They certainly provided us with something interesting to look at each day of the month, and hopefully we were able to give their campaigns a bit of a boost. For one last peek at the evolution of their upper lip last month, check out the interactive photo gallery.

I am a feminist.

in Blog by

I am a feminist, and I want you to be a feminist too. Twenty two years ago fourteen women were shot dead in the pursuit of knowledge. It was not an isolated incident. It was extreme, to be sure, but it was the edge of a societal curve that is itself imbalanced. As a member of one of the many professions that is heavily male-dominated, I often ask myself, and others, “Why are there so few women in engineering?” I am given a great many answers, most, if not all of which, are cop outs. Women are not engineers because they are discouraged from being engineers. In my schooling and in my profession I have seen women consistently devalued. I have had to force male colleagues to stop watching pornography in public labs. I have had to yell at TA’s for making comments about their female students. I have had…
