Perchance Theatre’s Open Sky: Sharon King-Campbell’s The Mermaid – A Staged Reading of an Original Play

August 10 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Mermaid is an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea set in present-day rural Newfoundland. Ellida has moved from her resettled coastal community to a larger, riverside town with her husband and his daughters, but she doesn’t really fit in. When she’s approached by a figure from her past, she must decide between her stable, stagnant life now, or an unknown and potentially dangerous adventure. The Mermaid is a story about choice, agency, and finding out what you really want.
