The search for a missing central Newfoundland man is still ongoing 24 hours a day, but a stormy forecast for today (Friday) may cause trouble. Volunteers and RCMP officers have been looking exhaustively for any sign of Grand Falls-Windsor resident Walter Dunn, 78, who has not been seen since Boxing Day. What sparked their renewed search efforts was the discovery of his pickup truck on Tuesday evening. It was found in dense brush about 10 kilometres west of his town. Staff-Sgt. Harold Nippard said searchers have been digging through surrounding snow by hand, but he doesn’t know yet how the weather will change their efforts. “We’re certainly going to have to take at look at it this afternoon with the weather reports we’re getting, and we’ll measure it after that,” said Nippard this morning.
