As the weather in our province finally takes a turn for the better, it comes as no surprise that the price of gas is inching higher too. The province’s Public Utilities Board approved an increase of up to 2.4 cents per litre, meaning drivers on the Avalon are facing prices of $1.40 per litre and up to $1.60 elsewhere. The prices are about 27 cents higher than this time last year. The highest price setting for gas occurred in September 2008, when gas was retailing on the Avalon for $1.496.
