Good ol’ reliable George Murphy of the Consumer Group for Fair Gas Prices is warning Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to brace themselves for yet another big hit at the pumps on Thursday. Regular unleaded gasoline is going up by five cents per litre, putting the price of gas in the greater St. John’s area at $1.38 per litre. Murphy says diesel will likely go up 1.3 cents per litre as well, while heating and stove oils will rise by just under 1.25 cents.
