A Transportation Safety Board team has completed an onsite investigation after a Purolator cargo jet overshot the runway at St. John’s International Airport in Newfoundland which damaged some of the plane’s tires and destroyed airport runway lights. No one was hurt in Saturday’s accident, but it did cause airport officials to shut down flight operations for over an hour. Officials say the aircraft’s flight data recorder should arrive at the TSB’s engineering branch in Ottawa on Thursday, however it will take some time before investigators can present any findings on a cause.
