Former Auditor General John Noseworthy created a stir last week when he mentioned that the Liberal party had outright offered him the leadership of the party. That comment seemed to fall by the wayside until yesterday when Noseworthy announced he would be running in the next election – for the PCs. But now the president of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Liberal party is rejecting that claim. “Either Mr. Noseworthy is mistaken or there was a miscommunication,” said Liberal President Judy Morrow. Morrow did concede that the situation was likely discussed with him. “I have no doubt, as he says, that he’s spoken with Mr. Parsons or Mrs. Jones. That may have very well been the case, to have been encouraged or to see if he may be interested in the position.”
