Man charged after pickup crashes into kitchen

A man was charged after Sunday’s incident in Southeast Placentia, which involved an out-of-control pickup truck crashing into a two-storey house and stopping right in the kitchen. Police say two adults and three children were in other areas of the house besides the kitchen that night and, as a result, no one was injured. Although, the section of the house that was hit had severe damage had to be torn down in case of potential collapse. RCMP officers say the driver of the pickup fled the scene before the officers arrived, but a suspect was picked up a short time later. A man was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and also issued a seven-day driving suspension based on his breathalyzer reading. More charges are expected to come, according to police.
