Marine Atlantic, on a roll

Marine Atlantic is defending the safety of its vessel the MV Blue Puttees. On March 19 the vessel rolled over 20 degrees in the water, which lasted 25 seconds, causing four injuries. Marine Atlantic says that the roll was caused by an unlikely combination of factors, including the vessel’s stabilizers, the wave frequency, rudder movements, and the roll of the vessel – they concluded saying the incident was isolated and unlikely to occur again. During the incident, a man was also thrown from his bunk and died more than a week later. The chief medical examiner is looking into whether the two incidents were related.
