At a four-premiers meeting in Sussux, New Brunswick, the premiers of the Atlantic provinces are looking for more federal funds to, asking for special consideration of their health care costs as a region with an older population. The premiers are talking about transfers now in an effort to begin putting pressure on the federal government; the current transfer agreement (seeing federal revenues dispersed to the provinces) expires in 2014. The meetings continue today, and for her part Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Kathy Dunderdale Labrador said she hopes the group will also have a chance to discuss energy issues.
