A group of religious leaders from across the country are calling on Canadian political candidates to make a pledge to reduce poverty, and the organization behind the idea is the Religious Social Action Coalition of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The group held a press conference yesterday to officially launch www.candidatesagainstpoverty.ca as a way for voters to ensure that the candidates in their riding have pledged to “to work to close the growing gap between rich and poor in Canada.”
