The St. John’s airport authority is set to spend about $150 million in the coming years on yet more expansions to the terminal building. The chair of the board, Fraser Edison, says renovations include an expanded area for security personnel, a full-body scanner, and just simply more space. The airport, which underwent $50 million in renovations in 2002, is equipped to handle about 900,000 passengers per year, but last year saw 1.3 million passengers.
