Canada Post workers in St. John’s held one last rally in front of the Kenmount Road sorting station Monday before grudgingly heading back to work. Legislation passed in Ottawa over the weekend – after 58-hours of delay by the Opposition NDP – required locked-out workers to be back on the job starting Monday evening. As a result, St. John’s citizens will be getting their mail today for the first time in two weeks. Postal workers are disappointed with how the labour dispute had ended, feeling that Canada Post had not won the dispute, but instead, the federal government had stepped in.
