With Victoria Day weekend fast approaching and the summer season almost upon us, many Newfoundlanders’ minds are on the outdoors. And if you have plans to be adventurous this summer, then we have the tool for you.
TheIndependent.ca has put together an interactive map showing you where all of the national, provincial, and private camping destinations are in Newfoundland and Labrador. Click on each flag to see the details of each destination (federal/provincial parks are denoted with a tree icon).
But in a province that seems to be 99% wilderness, we know that some of the best camping spots are off the beaten path and aren’t in a “campground”. We want your help to share the adventure; use the comment section below the map to share your favourite spot, or click here to add your spot to our map by yourself. Make sure you’re logged into your Google account, and we ask that you denote your addition with a blue placemark. And don’t forget your photos!
And if you are on the move, be sure to read TA Loeffler’s “10 essentials for the Two-Four” – what you need for a safe, dry adventure outdoors.
