The 2011 Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association conference began yesterday with an ExxonMobil Canada project update, Nalcor Energy’s role in attracting exploration, and the president of Chevron Canada outlining the ways his company is improving safety. There was also a panel discussion on implementing recommendations from the offshore helicopter safety inquiry. Premier Kathy Dunderdale opened the conference talking about the Muskrat Falls development: “look at the motives of the few vocal naysayers who are working so hard to find flaws in what is easily one of the most exciting developments in North America.”
