Big week in Ottawa

In national news, Michael Ignatieff and his Liberal Party will attempt to push through a vote this week declaring the Harper government in contempt of parliament. This is in light of the government’s initial refusal to allow parliament access to the projected costs of several pieces of legislation, and International Cooperation Minister Bev Oda’s office’s alleged alteration of government documents. If that were not enough, also on deck this week is the tabling of the 2011 budget on Tuesday, which the Liberals, NDP and Bloc have committed to not support if it contains planned corporate tax cuts. All of this amounts to a fiery week in Ottawa, and the possibility of an election call.
