Federal Liberal leader Bob Rae stopped by St. John’s yesterday for a fundraising golf tournament for the party held at Bally Haly Country Club. The fundraiser was for the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial Liberal Party, which according to reports filed with the elections office has more than $600,000 in debts. While in town, he voice his opinion on the state of the party across the nation: “I think they key thing is for the party to focus on the process of rebuilding across the country; make sure the riding associations are in better shape, get our finances in order, and get the structure of the party in a way that people can connect to it,” he said.
