Meanwhile the MAYDAY rally is still set for the St. John’s waterfront on Saturday at 11:30 am, a rally which will feature music and speeches, all in support of keeping the marine rescue sub-centre. Even Metrobus Transit has joined the effort by offering free bus rides to the rally. “(Buses) will run on a load and go basis from Confederation Building and the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation building on Canada Drive (at Columbus Drive) beginning at 10:30 a.m. Return shuttles to both locations will be available immediately following the rally,” stated a Metrobus news release. Drivers with Metrobus have volunteered to make the free rides available; further information about the free shuttle service can be found by calling Ride Guide at 709-722-9400.
