City picks up the tab for rained out folk festival

The CBC reports that the City of St. John’s is covering the cost of the folk festival’s rental of Mile One Centre. Festival organizers were forced into making the decision to relocate indoors due to heavy rain and wind conditions in metro, which would have made the festival not just unenjoyable, but also dangerous for performers and the public. The festival reportedly lost significant revenues due to the inclement weather.
