The Department of Transportation and Works announced yesterday that it will add a second ferry to the Fogo Island run. “We have noticed increased demand during this period and we are adding a second vessel to help ensure a smoother flow of traffic,” Hedderson said in a statement. Residents of the area had been seeking relief for long waits for ferry service to Fogo Island, which has picked up extra tourist traffic with the opening of new arts facilities.
