KISS (and the Simmons’) coming to Grand Falls-Windsor

It was confirmed yesterday that legendary rock band KISS will be performing at this year’s Salmon Festival in Grand Falls-Windsor. KISS’ appeal is cross-generational; as a rock band with world-wide success in the ’70s, the band is well known and liked by 40- and 50-somethings. But Gene Simmons and his family’s hit reality show Family Jewels, which premiered in 2006, has made a whole new generation aware of the band. Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed, is originally from Whitbourne — fuelling speculation that the whole family may make the trip to film a ‘homecoming’ episode of Family Jewels.
