Labrador City will be offering composters to its residents this spring in an effort to reduce the town’s waste. The Provincial Waste Management Strategy estimates that 30 per cent of all waste in our province is organic waste – that’s 300 tonnes province-wide. One can only hope that plans continue to move along to create the appropriate facilities and infrastructure in the most populated areas of this province to help reduce the province’s environmental footprint.
