A situation which saw processors refusing to purchase lobster, harvesters trying to sell outside of the province, and even road blocks, appears to be coming to an end. A deal ending a dispute over lobster prices was reached Thursday between the union representing Newfoundland and Labrador fishermen and processors. The Fish, Food and Allied Workers union and the Seafood Producers of Newfoundland and Labrador (SPONL) agreed to $3.65 per pound to start with. The price will be reviewed every week until the end of the season. The original price set, which was dismissed by processors, was $4.25.
