Yesterday our province was featured in the “weird” category of Toronto Sun’s online news for a TV-remote assault. Today, we’re there again for a crutch assault. A woman from our province is facing an assault charge after allegedly using a crutch to hit a man. According to the RNC, she was being released from an emergency room in St. John’s when she used the crutch she’d been given to strike the man she was with in the head. Police said the man suffered a minor injury. The woman was arrested on the scene in hospital and charged with assault with a weapon. She’s been released with the promise to appear in court.
