Man fined for underreporting crab catch

Roland Pinsent admitted in court yesterday that he took a report from a crab catch but did not observe the catch himself. Records from the Noonan’s Pride for May of last year show that it caught almost 1,000 more kilograms than was reported by Pinsent. Pinsent, who was charged with breach of trust and has been fined $2,500, is the third observer to be prosecuted for similar offences in recent months. Charges against Maurice Noonan, the skipper of the Noonan’s Pride, are still before the court.
