Moose in for a tough year

The Newfoundland and Labrador government added more than 5,000 moose licences to the mix this year, bringing the total to over 33,500 province-wide. Most of the new licences were added in areas surrounded in the Trans-Canada Highway and other regional thoroughfares, in an attempt to help reduce moose-related accidents. TheIndependent.ca will be watching to see what effect this development will have on province-wide deep-freeze sales – for all that extra meat.
