The CBC is reporting that despite all the rain, drizzle and fog Newfoundland and Labrador had a strong tourism season. Not all of the statistics are in yet, but the department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation has posted a few facts on their website. Among them: airport passenger movements at the province’s major airports increased 6.5% over last year and available provincial accommodations occupancy rate rose almost 1% from 2010. Stay tuned for more complete numbers as the season draws to an end during the fall.
