Over 40 people showed up to protest the Lower Churchill project yesterday in Labrador. They rallied outside Hotel North Two, where environmental assessment hearings on the proposed hydroelectric project were happening. One of the organizers, Jim Learning, says that the main issue is the development’s environmental impacts on Churchill River and its surrounding ecosystem. Learning says yesterday’s protest went well, and that their fight is not over just yet.
