One group of Rural-Suburban Mail Couriers in St. John’s — members of CUPW, but with a different collective agreement— were told not to bother showing up for work yesterday because managers said they wouldn’t cross picket lines. Even though they’re not workers involved in the ongoing labour dispute, these workers took to the streets too and picketed a manager’s home. The workers were fearful that they were going to lose pay as a result of the managers choosing not to cross the picket lines, but eventually they ended their protest after receiving assurances they would return to their jobs.
