Province pushing for meeting between OCI and union in Marystown

Provincial fisheries minister Clyde Jackman hopes to set up a meeting with Ocean Choice International and the Fish, Food and Allied Workers union as quickly as possible to discuss reactivation of the OCI fish plant in Marystown. Allan Moulton, president of the FFAW’s Marystown union local, says that while he understands the challenges the company faces, including the high price of fuel and the high Canadian dollar, the solution to those problems cannot always be to ship out more fish for processing elsewhere.
