Quarry a go

St. John’s city council gave the go ahead for a sand quarry near Conception Bay South during Monday night’s council meeting. Residents of the Foxtrap Access Road have argued that the site would be too close to homes and their two schools. The city assures quarry operators will have to follow strict rules and operate only in the summer when the schools are empty.
