A St. John’s restaurant, Raymond’s, has been named by En Route magazine as Canada’s Best New Restaurant for 2011. “There are few views in Canada more evocative than the one from the dining room at Raymonds,” says the magazine. The “…food is fresh, bright and ultimately thoughtful. Inspired by the primacy of ingredients in this, his native land….” Who says you can’t catch lightning in a bottle twice? Chef Jeremy Charles and GM Jeremy Bonia were the same duo who helped propel Atlantica to fame by winning En Route’s best new restaurant in 2007. “Named for their grandfather and father, respectively, Raymonds is all chandeliered Edwardian elegance. What century is this again?”
