Retiring your ride?

There is one week left to get rid of your old clunker under the national ‘Retire Your Ride’ program. Designed to enable people to get their high-polluting cars off the road, the program aimed to retire at least 50,000 cars per year in Canada before ending for good next Thursday. In 2009 and 2010, ‘Retire Your Ride’ received 1,118 applications from this province, and permanently retired 1,024 of our old vehicles (1995 models or older). Rewards for turning in your gas guzzler include $300 cash, a 1-year Metrobus pass and discounts of up to $2000 on a brand new rig.
