St. John’s making its move further east

Watch out Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove – St. John’s is growing your way. The City of St. John’s has permitted a developer to move forward with a residential subdivision east of the Stavanger Drive area, to be comprised of 65 new homes. Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove Mayor John Kennedy has objected to the proposal because of problems with downstream flooding in the area, but St. John’s city staff indicate a residential development will actually benefit the floodplain as the green space will soak up some water.
