It appears that two former provincial MHAs are coming out of the woodwork to challenge Liberal incumbents in two separate ridings. MHA-turned-Senator Fabian Manning is expected today to announce his candidacy in the riding of Avalon and challenge Liberal Scott Andrews in a rematch from the 2008 election. Meanwhile, former provincial minister Loyola Sullivan is expected to run for the Conservatives in St. John’s South – Mount Pearl against Liberal Siobhan Coady. Both Liberals won in 2008 with narrow margins of victory, despite the Danny Williams-led ABC campaign. Both ridings are expected to be close fights again in 2011, and TheIndependent.ca will be here to keep you up to date.
