John Weber is an avid pedestrian, cyclist and bus rider. He moved to St. John’s almost 20 years ago and currently splits his time between the city, Catalina, and Garnish, NL. He is an active member of the Challenge Car Culture group within the Social Justice Co-operative NL and is particularly interested in addressing mobility rights within the province. He has been involved in the arts community for several years as a volunteer and Board member at Eastern Edge Gallery in St. John’s, and Union House Arts in Port Union. He is a member of a group that founded Homes for Syrian Families Inc., which has raised funds to help bring Syrian families to the province. John’s day job is as a pharmacologist/neuroscientist and professor in Memorial University’s School of
Pharmacy. He has recently completed a degree in Counselling Psychology and is pivoting towards a future in psychotherapy and addressing mental health
issues.
