Fumes in the airport’s baggage room triggered a fire alarm last night at 7:45. A spokesman for the airport says the alarm forces the shut-down of the computerized system, including the luggage carousel. The system then has to be reset, which involves draining the sprinklers, before things can return to normal. That process took a couple of hours Sunday, causing a couple of flight delays and uncertainty and frustration for travellers.
