Two policy debates to be held today, one on the economy and the other on health care, will help to distinguish the positions of the PC, Liberal, and NDP parties – though neither debate will feature all three party leaders. First up, the Newfoundland and Labrador Nurses’ Union is hosting an election panel on health care and nursing at the Holiday Inn in St. John’s which will feature Liberal leader Kevin Aylward, NDP leader Lorraine Michael, and Jerome Kennedy (Health Minister) for the PCs. Later this evening a debate sponsored by the St. John’s Board of Trade will turn the focus to the economy and financial management which will be attended by Lorraine Michael, Danny Dumaresque on behalf of the Liberals, and Tom Marshall (Finance Minister) on behalf of the PCs. The three leaders will face off tomorrow evening in a televised leaders debate.
