VOCM is reporting that Provincial Fisheries Minister Clyde Jackman is very concerned with the rapid decline in shrimp stocks in area 3L. Jackman isn’t sure what decline will mean for federal quota allocations, but he says the decline is a concern for the province and in particular for the inshore sector, which holds the largest allocation in the fishery. Area 3L, shared with Quebec, is located in the water north and west of Labrador’s most northern border.
