An informative session held by the Harris Centre on Tuesday night featured MUN Economist Wade Locke giving his take on the Muskrat Falls project. Even in light of recent criticisms to the mega-project, Locke endorsed the project believing that it remains the most cost effective solution to a growing demand for power. Yet many remain unconvinced. Can we raise the price of power to lower demand and avoid the whole thing? Can we look to alternative fuel sources like LNG or shale gas? What about wind power? These questions and more were explored during the presentation and its Q&A session. Visit the Harris Centre’s website here to view the video of the presentation – and if you aren’t convinced one way or the other, at the very least you’ll be better informed.
