Former Alberta Premier Ralph Klein, who has been battling issues associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder and aphasia since September, will be released from hospital shortly and moved into a continuing care facility. Klein, the extraordinarily popular Premier of Alberta from 1992-2006 and Calgary’s mayor from 1980-1989, has seen his health decline since leaving politics. He is also suffering from frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disease that limits his ability to talk, run and drive. “King Ralph” is 68 years old.
