The Telegram is reporting that a committee comprised of four individuals – who have been tasked with investigating the ramifications of the minor boating accident – is expected to finish its report by the end of the year. Regatta vice-president and captain of the course Don Kelly said the group is investigating what can be done to try to avoid such an incident in the future. No one was seriously injured when Quality Plus, with coxswain Dan Harte and rowing in the Miss Labatt, and Lamb’s, coxed by Diana Gibbons in the Good Luck, collided during the turning of the buoys. “There’s no real urgency,” said Kelly. “They will look at the whole situation. They are looking at what we can do better and they will make recommendations.”
