A man from Prince Edward Island is proving that one doesn’t need Facebook, Twitter, or even a phone to connect with people from all over the world. Harold Hackett has sent over 5,000 bottled messages adrift into the Atlantic Ocean, one by one, just to see where they’ll go. The response has been enormous – he has received over 3,300 back so far. His responses, sometimes with gifts, have come from all over the world – from the Netherlands to Africa to America to Newfoundland. “Today my five year old boy found your letter in a bottle,” reads a note Hackett recently received from the Magdalen Islands, in reply to a bottled he’d sent 13 years earlier. “Thank you for doing this because it filled my little boy with joy for the rest of the day.” Read the full, interesting, story via the link below.
