Vulcan Minerals Inc. has announced it has completed the drilling program at the Flat Bay project in western Newfoundland, a program which has resulted in a significant expansion of the areal extent of the Flat Bay oil deposit. Vulcan says that the main purpose of the program was to “obtain a distribution of core samples from the reservoir to better understand the spatial and facies variation of rock properties and oil saturations.” 3 of teh 6 holes drilled were oil bearing.
