PHOTO: Paddy’s Day fun, love and madness

Classic St. Patrick’s Day behaviour in downtown St. John’s this evening

My St. Paddy’s Day adventure began and ended in a likely St. Paddy’s Day central: Shamrock City Pub in downtown St. John’s.

I arrived around 5 p.m. to the partying masses at the packed pub, which also featured a 20-person line-up at the door. I immediately realized that I was very late, for my partying deduction skills concluded that these people had been doing this for at least several hours, if not a day or two. But, these folks were troopers and it was clear they were going to continue, even if there was a guy walking around taking pictures of them.

I knew that I could easily fill gigabytes of camera cards with all things green, drunk and fun. Which — I did. Pictured here, frozen in time, is part of the fun, love and madness of happy hour on this St. Patrick’s Day.
