Purity issues ‘potential layoff’ notices

There are reports that some employees of Purity Factories in St. John’s have been given layoff notices. Sources claim there are cash flow problems at Purity, which recently settled with its employees after a lockout that stretched from September to January. Carol Furlong, President of NAPE, which represents Purity workers, has confirmed an undisclosed number of workers have been given notices of potential layoff.
