The CBC is reporting that a young man in his late teens appeared to have slipped from an embankment on Signal Hill around 11:45 a.m.The RNC reported late in the afternoon that the young man did not survive the fall. For several hours, police, the high-angle rescue team of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, a fast-water rescue craft and a Universal helicopter searched the area for the missing man. The Canadian Coast Guard retrieved the teen’s body around 5 p.m. Police have not released the name, but the family has been notified.
